Dunton Ellerkamp
Owen Dunton Ellerkamp is a self-taught jewelry designer whose pieces reinterpret traditional design through ancient processes that begin, quite simply, with a block of wax. Working from his Brooklyn studio, each piece is meticulously hand-carved before being transformed into solid silver or gold using lost wax casting—a technique unchanged since 4000 BCE. The studio's distinctive finishing process, involving careful tumbling, sanding, and filing, creates a unique textured skin that speaks to both the hand of the maker and the quiet beauty of New England that inspires his work. This dedication to enduring craftsmanship and material integrity results in pieces that transcend trends, designed to be passed through generations.
